Well, we are well on our way. What an experience. We found out that our truck is a glutten for fuel. I think a full size bus gets better gas mileage. We might have to sell the trailer to pay for gas to get home! LOL
The trip went well and we found ourselves touring through the Petrified Forest and Painted Desert. Of course we were getting tense because... you guessed it... we were almost out of gas! They had a gas station at the north end of the park and we paid the low cost of $3.29 a gallon! Yikes! A while later, Hank threw up twice in the truck (he never gets sick). He was antsy for the next bit in the truck and when we stopped in Gallup, NM to take a break, he had a violent upset stomach. Our poor doggie was having a very bad day. After that, he calmed down and his battle with being sick seems to have ended. The original decision to go all the way to Albuquerque was a bit ambitious. We could have done it but we were getting tired of driving and I wanted Hank to relax too. We ended up finding a small RV "park" to stop for the night. Ahhh... Home Sweet Home (30 degrees)...
