Been Such A Long Time
It's hard to believe it's been 2 years since I posted last. We did get the house and moved in on Halloween of 2011. Today is about recreating. We're out in Pahrump doing some RVing. It's a fantastic fall day and we're just being lazy.

The House
So we did it. I found out I could qualify for a home loan and took the leap. The loan was approved within a couple of days after making the decision to buy. It was really fast. Next was the process of FINDING the right house. We'd been told to stay away from Short Sales but of course that's not exactly how it all went down. About 2 months ago, Tami and I went house gazing on a Saturday with our Realtor, Maya, and lo and behold... WHAM. We found the "perfect" house that had RV parking! It was, unfortunately, a short sale but the couple in the house was very cool and had just put it up for sale.
That very day, we made an offer on the house. Now the wait started for the bank to approve it. To our surprise, Chase accepted the offer within 30 days and gave us a whopping 28 days to close. So far, so good... right?!
Well, now the drama starts. We were supposed to close on or before October 21st and it's October 19 today. The lender had a couple of "issues" and they had to request an extension on closing. So here it is, 2 days before and I have no clue if the bank will accept the extension offer or not... OR... if the loan docs are being completed. ArrrGGhhh!!!
I knew it was going too smooth!

Been Such a Long Time...
It's been too long. Last year we took our AWESOME trip to Tennessee and didn't even finish documenting it. Maybe (and I mean maybe) we will finish it one day. In the meantime, it's now turning fall again in the desert for 2011 and we're trying to get a new house. With some luck, I'll put up some cool photos of it and let that story develop. LOL. Yeah... we'll see. Look for more info coming up...

You got ur Barbequed Shrimp...
There are many things to see and do in Gatlinburg. Who would have ever thought that we would find "Bubba Gump Shrimp" in Tennessee? You know what... "Momma always said that life if like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna find".
Trolls
Trolls are very, very old. They are caught around the woods of the Great Smoky Mountains and seek out good homes to keep a careful watch over their care givers. Tami and I were fortunate enough to be picked as recipients of 2 awesome Trolls. One of them is the Trail Guide Troll who helps you to find your way. The other Troll is a Ken Troll and he represents the first man, Ken, to capture and give good homes to the Trolls...

Gatlinburg, home of The Great Smoky Mountains
We arrived in Gatlinburg at about 2 in the afternoon. It's a little chilly outside but the weather is beautiful. We found our little RV campground, "Camping In The Smokies" and after registration was done, we set our RV up in our space. We had to borrow a longer garden house as our water hose did not reach the connection. It's a weird setup at this campground but it's very nice and secluded. We're not really leaving the trailer tonight, just taking it easy and resting. Tomorrow is the day to explore!
